A massive wave of Russian ballistic missiles and drones struck multiple regions across Ukraine overnight into Thursday, killing at least eight civilians and wounding dozens more.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russia launched more than 70 missiles and over 280 attack drones, striking at least 10 Ukrainian regions. The strikes caused severe devastation in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where six people were killed, including three children—a 6-year-old girl and boys aged 11 and 17—whose home in Kryvyi Rih was blown to “smithereens” by a ballistic missile.
Ukraine Also Targeted Russia With More Than 250+ Drones, Mostly Downed
In Kyiv, ballistic missiles killed one person, while a cruise missile strike on the western city of Lviv wounded 34 people, including three children. The Russian Defense Ministry claimed the attacks were aimed at Ukrainian air bases, arms factories, and military logistics facilities, stating that their air defenses also downed 258 Ukrainian drones overnight.

The attack also triggered an international incident when a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile allegedly violated NATO airspace by crossing into Poland. The Polish military command reported that an object disappeared from radar screens, and a probable impact site was discovered in an undeveloped area near Tarnawa-Kolonia in the Lublin province. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk traveled to the area on Thursday morning to inspect the site as authorities continue to investigate the breach.
